Moving out of state: Should I sell my furniture or renting a truck or moving company to move?
I am leaving my parents' house to another state (18 hours drive). I have much more than the furniture, just a room full (large bonus room). I have a desk, office chair, bed double futon, two shelves full of books, two folding chairs butterfly (do not occupy any space to move, as it can be folded in the same way as a beach chair) clothing, shoes, coffee table, lamp, various ornaments that sit on top of my desk, posters on the wall, a guitar and keyboard. To be honest, never touch the keyboard or guitar anymore so I can sell those. The furniture I have is cheap and the bed is likely to have to be sold anyway and I will be sharing bed with someone when I move. I know that moving companies are very expensive so that it can not be worthwhile to hire a company or even a truck. But for the other hand, do not think my parents let me sell the furniture so it may be worth taking. What would you do in my situation?
Ask your parents. Can waiting to leave the furniture when you visit.
