The allowable deduction can not go beyond the gross income you get for the business to be conducted in the home office, minus the deductions that are allowed, despite business use, such as mortgage interest and property taxes and other deductions that you are taking for the business. In other words, there can be a failure in business with a home – office deduction.
Deductible Expenses
Some of the expenses you can deduct for the use of a home office include: rent, utilities, depreciation of office furniture and depreciation in the business building. The amount of these deductions is verified by the percentage of home the home office occupies.
Other considerations
It allows home-office deductions if you are a worker and your home office is used for convenience employers and benefit office to the general rules.

2. If rooms your home are about the same size, divide the number of rooms used for business by the total number of rooms.
